Welcome to Samantha's Page

Samantha is 4-1/2 years old. She will be 5 at the end of May. She went to pre-K for a few months in the fall of 2008 & absolutely loved it. However, when we decided to try to buy a house, we took her out of the pre-K to save money since it was rather pricey. Now, she is home with me & we have fun playing board games, reading books, going for walks, watching TV, and playing on the computer. Recently, I started walking around the apartment complex with a friend in order to get some exercise & try to lose weight. Samantha had been great about walking & likes to encourage me to get healthy. I'm surprised she actually walks for an hour with us without complaining at all. Samantha is still my little cuddle bug, even though she says, "I'm not a bug!!," when I call her that. She loves to learn new things. She seems to absorb everything that goes on around her. She amazes us with her math skills even without us teaching her. She easily adds numbers together, even ones we think would be hard for her.
Samantha got a Leapster for Christmas & likes playing the games on it & learning new things. Last year, we discontinued our cable TV in order to save money. We just have an antenna now. Therefore, we only get PBS as far as kids shows go. One of her favorite shows is Sid the Science Guy. She loves learning new things through that show. She will often surprise me by things she says & she tells me she learned it on Sid the Science Guy. Sometimes we cuddle in the morning & watch Curious George together since I like that show. Samantha is excited about getting a house with more space, a back yard, & a park down the street. She will start Kindergarten in the fall this year & is thrilled to start school again. We went to look at the school we'll be in at the new house & she's excited that it has 3 playgrounds -- even though the Kindergarteners will probably only use the smallest one.
Samantha loves the Disney Princesses & started getting Barbie dolls this year for Christmas. She loves giving hugs to and cuddling with Krista, our dog (who is 3 years old). She amazes me with the love and kindness she shows to me (and all of us). She often comes up to me & gives me a hug for no reason at all. Many times I'll be doing something else and she'll walk up to me and say, "I love you, Mommy," which just makes my day! She likes trying to copy things Faith does & learn from her. She often drives us bonkers saying, "When I'm 8, I'll be able to...." -- and then says something that Faith can do that she can't do yet. I am truly enjoying learning from her and watching her grow.
